What web accessibility is:

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or similar level of ease as other visitors. This is achieved through the capabilities of the browsing system and through assistive technologies such as screen readers.

Accessibility adjustments on this site:

This site has been adapted in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines. As part of this effort:

  • The Wix Accessibility Wizard was used to identify and resolve accessibility issues

  • The site language has been set

  • Clear heading structures have been defined on all pages

  • Content order has been reviewed and adjusted

  • Alternative text has been added to all images

  • A pause button has been added to the zooplankton image slideshow. The testimonials carousel includes pause-on-hover functionality; a dedicated pause button is not available for this element type due to Wix platform limitations.

  • Colour combinations have been verified to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast requirements (minimum 4.5:1 ratio)

  • All links and buttons use descriptive text clearly identifying their destination or purpose

  • Aria labels have been added to buttons providing additional context for screen reader users

  • Information is never conveyed by colour alone — text, labels, or symbols accompany all meaningful visual elements

  • Site content has been verified to remain functional and readable at 200% browser zoom

Known limitations:

Some site functionality depends on the Wix platform and third-party services. Full compliance of these elements cannot be guaranteed. Automated accessibility checkers such as PageSpeed Insights may flag platform-rendered logo elements due to image-text overlap detection limitations; all colour combinations have been manually verified at the required 4.5:1 minimum contrast ratio.
 

The testimonials carousel does not support a dedicated pause button due to Wix platform limitations for this element type. A pause-on-hover function has been applied as a partial measure.
